(Intermission: None)

Esplanade Recital Studio

This event is over.

After spending her whole life wandering the dark vastness of space all alone, a shooting star goes on an exploration to discover who she is and where she belongs. She encounters different celestial bodies, all with their own quirks. However, despite meeting so many others during her travels, she is unable to find a home with any of them. At her loneliest, she stumbles upon a group called the Collectors (shooting stars just like her) and learns to love her life through the celebration of the memories she has collected.

This showcase will consist of a performance and a facilitated discussion with the artists.

Artist Information

Michelle Turberfield

Michelle is a theatre-maker, teacher, performer, and poet. She graduated from LASALLE's Diploma in Performance in 2021 and has since dedicated herself to creating compassionate and thought-provoking art. Her recent works include ‘A Ride Alone’, a TYA puppetry show that was featured in a showcase at Pesta Boneka Festival in Yogyakarta, and ‘Lost in Transit’, a radio play in collaboration with the Runaway Collective, which explores the nostalgia, turbulence, and isolation of growing up nomadically without one strict place to call home.

Sofie Buligis

Sofie is a Singapore-based singer-actor and theatre-maker. She is a first-class graduate of LASALLE College of the Arts’ Musical Theatre programme. At the heart of Sofie’s work is her advocacy for marginalised groups and courage to break glass ceilings. She believes in the power of theatre for young audiences, creating opportunities for young artists as a creative director of the Runaway Company and performer with SRT’s The Little Company. When not performing or producing, she is a compassionate and dedicated arts educator.
