Octopus's Day Out

It’s Ottie’s first time heading out into the big blue ocean. It is feeling excited and anxious. Ottie swims and navigates through the waters and meets new friends along the way, while learning to deal with how to play with others and Ottie's own personal emotions and the feelings of his newfound friends. Come join us in this deep blue ocean to help Ottie in its exploration.

This showcase will consist of a performance and a facilitated discussion with the artists.

A Magical Creation is a collective of two individuals with a passion for children's theatre. Through their work, they have honed their distinctive and whimsical style, and are now poised to bring their unique vision to the stage in the form of an original production. Through this PLAYlab production, they hope to captivate audiences and inspire them to embrace their own sense of playfulness.

This showcase is part of PLAYlab, a developmental platform at Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay, targeting budding artists or collectives interested in Theatre for Young Audiences (TYA) for children three to six years old. PLAYlab aims to provide opportunities for research and development in the creation of new TYA productions at the centre.
