This 4-hour Drama for Social Emotional Learning - PAL Performing Arts workshop aims to equip educators, both mainstream School Teachers and Teaching Artists, with the necessary tools to effectively plan and deliver PAL - Performing Arts (Drama) lessons. While mainstream School Teachers learn fundamental drama strategies for the facilitation of PAL lessons, Teaching Artists will learn about the framework and guiding principles of PAL. The shared space will also offer unique opportunities for knowledge exchange, collaboration and networking between Teachers and Teaching Artists.

Aishwariyah Nathan (Asha Nathan)
Aishwariyah Shanmuganathan (Asha Nathan) Drama Educator and Practitioner A recent recipient of the National Arts Council’s Arts Scholarship postgraduate award, Aishwariyah is a Drama educator and practitioner who is also pursing a Doctorate in Arts Education with Nanyang Technological University-National Institute of Education’s Visual and Performing Arts Department. With more than 15 years of experience in the Arts Education sector and a Masters in Drama Education, Aishwariyah has successfully brought Drama based education to learners of all ages, abilities and backgrounds. Her keen interest in areas such as culture, interdisciplinary arts, children's theatre, kinaesthetic learning and socially engaged practices, allows her to find interesting parallels and intersections within these areas. In addition to the teaching, lecturing, writing, directing and creative consulting work that she does, Aishwariyah is also an active arts advocate who is currently serving as the President of the Singapore Drama Educators Association (SDEA). As an advocate, she particularly champions advocacy and continuing education and training (CET) for the benefit of SDEA’s members and industry stakeholders.
