A raga is not just a musical scale, a mood, or a tune, but rather a concept that encompasses them all. While there is no complete definition for a raga, it is what enable us to truly experience emotions and ambiences without any knowledge or understanding of the piece presented. Join flautists Rohini and Vinod for an evening of Carnatic music and experience the colors and emotions of various ragas to explore the question “What is a raga?”
Mask-wearing is optional. However, audiences are encouraged to continue to exercise responsibility and caution, such as wearing masks when in crowded places. No tickets will be issued. Seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Rohini Subramanian and Vinod M. Kumar
Rohini and Vinod began their flute journey under the tutelage of Sri G Sridhar (disciple of Kalaimamani Smt N. Kesi) in 2008. Over the years, they have performed on various stages and participated in competitions such as the National Indian Music Competition. With the spirit to share their passion for this artform, and the love and guidance from the Gurus, they present Raga Rasanubhavam.
