Hexatonix

An engineer by profession and a music lover by passion, Sudip is a composer, music producer and sound engineer. He is a singer, piano and guitar player who has performed in many prestigious venues in India and Singapore.

An engineer by profession and singer by heart, Kirti finds music very fulfilling and sings from heart to reach everyone’s soul.

Hailing from a musical family, Suma Balakrishna has been steeped in Carnatic since childhood. She has performed in events throughout school and college including talent shows on Indian television and radio. She is a polyglot and can sing in eight languages. After training in Hindustani music and Carnatic music for more than 12 years, she is an active performer and have been part of shows at Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay, Suntec Convention Centre, Mediacorp’s Vasantham, Indian Heritage Centre, various community clubs, weddings and bars in Singapore. She is excited to share her love for music at this year’s Kalaa Utsavam as a part of Hexatonix.

Joash Edelstein is a young and enthusiast drummer, who started playing the drums at the age of seven at his church band. Having worked hard in the industry over the ears, Joash now has a career as a passionate full-time musician and drum educator, providing lessons at his studios and students’ homes. He drums frequently with various Singapore bands, being a sessionist for both local and international artists.

"Music is a delightful force that has the ability to connect with the deepest part of one's heart". So believes Ramesh Narasimhan, one of the three singers in the band Hexatonix. A chartered accountant and senior finance professional by vocation, Ramesh is a passionate singer, with an eclectic range of songs in his repertoire Bollywood, Tamil, Semi-classical, ghazals and English pop. Brought up in a family of music lovers, he has a penchant for Indian Classical music. He has performed on several stages in Singapore on several occasions. Ramesh has also composed an original, a cultural anthem titled Sangachatvam for the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, which promotes harmony and unity in six different languages. He was one of the judges in the Radio Masti 24X7 Music competition that was held in 2020, sponsored by the High Commission of India. He also holds certification in music notation, awarded by Kelvin Studios, Malaysia. He is absolutely delighted to be a part of Kalaa Utsavam 2022.

Karl was born and raised in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and picked up an interest in music at a very young age. From watching and listening to various kinds of artists and music genres, he became more inspired by music and decided to embark on a musical journey. Karl is currently based in Singapore working as a full-time musician. He is an educator, busker,  guitarist, singer, composer as well as a music producer. He is well-versed with various genres such as pop, blues, rock, jazz fusion, and country. He is also known for fusing his style of playing with traditional music such as Middle Eastern music and Carnatic music. He enjoys experimenting with various styles of music by putting together various elements of music and coming up with something new. He has experience in performing for corporate events, musical theatres, residential gigs, performances for various institutions and television series. He has performed as a session guitarist on various independent artists’ songs and albums as well as local film scores.
