Hailed for his “awesome technical command and maturity”, violinist Kevin Zhu returns to Singapore after a stunning recital debut!
Presented in collaboration with Altenburg Arts, he will perform Shostakovich’s first violin concerto, a thrilling virtuosic showcase after a hauntingly eerie opening. Music Director Chan Tze Law will also lead the orchestra through the enchanting harmonic landscapes of Ravel’s La valse, before concluding with Tchaikovsky’s famous last symphony “Pathétique”.
Stretching across its exhilarating march and lushly romantic melodies is an astonishing musical concept that the Russian composer described as having put his whole soul into. Join us as we explore the spectrum of human emotion through these monumental staples of classical music repertoire.
