Synopsis

Poetry, angst, innocence, reflection and magnificence – hallmarks of the high Romantics – are on full display in this transcendent programme led by Singapore Symphony Music Director Hans Graf.

Before the sublime grandeur of Brahms’s Third Symphony, Richard Strauss’s valedictory Tod und Verklärung – the final reflections of a great artist – makes a powerful prelude to Mahler’s famous orchestral song settings, featuring rising South Korean soprano Sumi Hwang.

Children under 7 will not be admitted into the hall, even with a ticket.

Latecomers will only be admitted at appropriate pauses during the show or during intermission, if any.
