Kim has performed world-wide as a recitalist and in numerous chamber music concerts. She drew acclaim for her performances with the Korean Broadcasting System Symphony, Buchoun Symphony, Suwon Symphony, Busan Symphony, Prime Philharmonic, Janacek Philharmonic, Manhattan Chamber Orchestra, and Wiener Residenz Orchestra. Her grand prize-winning performance in the Korean Broadcasting System Music Competition led her to an invitation to perform at Lincoln Center Alice Tully Hall in 1995. She is also the first prize winner of the Jung-Ang Music Competition, EumYeon Piano Competition, JM Debut Audition, and New England Conservatory Concerto Competition in Boston.
As a winner of the 2005 Seoul Arts Center Music Festival Concerto Audition, Kim played with the DaeJun Civic Symphony Orchestra at Seoul Arts Center. She performed recitals in Japan, Germany, France, Italy, Austria, and USA. She performed at prestigious venues including Carnegie Weill Recital Hall in New York, USA, and Berlin Philharmonie Kämmermusicssal in Berlin, Germany. She has been featured in a cover story in Musica di Pianoforte and International Piano, some of the leading music magazines in Korea. In recent seasons, Kim was invited to perform as a soloist playing Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No. 3 with Jeonju Symphony Orchestra at the Seoul Arts Center Orchestra Festival.
Dr. Kim received her Bachelor's degree from Seoul National University and holds a Master's degree and Graduate diploma from New England Conservatory in Boston. She received her Artist diploma at the Cleveland Institute of Music followed by her Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Ohio State University. She gained her artistic insights studying with Jin-Woo Chung, Wha Kyung Byun, Russell Sherman, Sergei Babayan, and Caroline Hong. She taught at Seoul National University, Korea National University of Arts, and many other universities in Korea. She was invited to teach at master classes including Euro Music Festival in Leipzig, Germany. While serving as a competition jury member internationally, Na Young Kim is currently a professor at the Music Department, College of Arts and Physical Education at Sejong University in Seoul, Korea.
