Inspired by the breathtaking discoveries of the James Webb telescope, which allows humanity to peer back in time to the beginning of the Universe itself, Tze Toh with TO ensemble presents an original concert that celebrates the technological man-made marvel that James Webb is and how it has brought humanity closer through our innate curiosity and desire to unlock the mysteries of the cosmos and time. The images captured have not only made us collectively reflect upon our existence in the bigger scheme of things, but also inspired us to dream, reimagine our place among the stars. The sheer beauty of every galaxy, nebula, constellation, star discovered or re-discovered has inspired composer Tze Toh to create a suite of 5 works, in his ensemble's unique contemporary music style - a fusion of Jazz, film score, Indian, Chinese music and classical music with digital instruments / sound design, blending composition and improvisation in an exhilarating sonic tapestry. Come join us in this concert that paints a series of portraits of the cosmos, in a musical journey that takes us back to the beginning of time. Featuring Tze Toh (piano / keyboard), Lazar T. Sebastine (Carnatic violin), Teo Boon Chye (tenor sax), Dai Da (er hu) and Chia Zhe Yin (alto sax).
Tickets available at the door, cash transaction only.
