Synopsis

Familiar songs jazzed up! Put the swing in your child's step with this participatory introduction performance to jazz. Children will be encouraged to move their bodies, explore making sounds with objects, and sing along to familiar tunes like You Are My Sunshine and Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes.

Jazz for Little Kids is part of the Jazz for Kids series by Jazz Association Scholar, vocalist/producer, and mother-of-two, Dawn Wong.

This participatory performance is recommended for children aged 4 to 6.

Dawn Wong

Singaporean vocalist/song-writer/creative producer Dawn Wong straddles the English/Mandarin divide with her own take on jazz.

Enamoured with the idea of Singapore jazz and the impact that music can have on our little ones, the Jazz Association (Singapore) scholar writes, produces, and performs Jazz for Kids programmes to colour the musical palettes of young audiences. Her exploration began with the release of Marco Lopo (2016), comprising original tunes in both English and Mandarin. Marco Lopo is available on digital streaming platforms including Spotify.
