In Our Manner of Speaking is a recital series developed by The Opera People that addresses contemporary issues and ideas through song.

In the fourth edition of our series we shift our gaze to Singapore, exploring our identities and histories. Sounds of You, is a love song to memory, nostalgia and our home. From cityscapes and folksongs, to special occasions and getai, we celebrate a city that is as alive and complex as its people. Featuring newly commissioned works and arrangements by Tan Yuting and Megat Firdaus and songs by Jonathan Shin and Tsao Chieh.

Performed by Akiko Otao, Kira Lim, Felicia Teo Kaixin, Evangeline Ng, Leslie Tay and Lim Jingjie accompanied by pianists Phoon Yu and Beatrice Lin.
