Synopsis

Aimed to inspire local artists and band audiences with the performance of high-quality repertoire, both old and new, the SIBF Concert Showcase will feature the Philharmonic Wind Orchestra. Comprising over 150 skilled musicians, Philharmonic Wind Orchestra was founded in 2022 to continue the legacy of The Philharmonic Winds and Philharmonic Youth Winds. Led by Music Director Dr Leonard Tan and guest conductor Lau Lifeng, the band will perform the following programme: Overture to “Candide” by Leonard Bernstein Concertino for Euphonium by Lee Jinjun Soloist: Vincent Tan Wine-Dark Sea : Symphony for Band by John Mackey Spirited Away by J. Hisaishi & Y. Kimura (arr. Morita)

Please note that several roads around Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay might be closed on 30 July, due to the rehearsal for National Day Parade 2022. As traffic congestion is expected and the road closures may cause significant delays, patrons are advised to arrive with a comfortable lead time on the day and to please use public transport to access Esplanade.
