[Image description] A bespectacled boy is raising his arms above his head gleefully. He is wearing a red sweatshirt that reads “Kind Human”. He is in front of an audience of five people, who are watching him enthusiastically.

[Image description] Emily Lue-Fong, an East-Asian female dancer, is in a dynamic lunge on a black floor. She leans on her left foot, resting her right knee on the ground. She has double braids that swing to the left, demonstrating movement. Behind her, a man in blue holds his crossed right leg across his body while leaning his body weight on his left shin, which is pressed against the floor. They are watched by two other participants.
[Image description] Hannah Sampson, a Caucasian female dancer, is sitting on her bent right leg while she extends her left leg in front of her. She supports her weight with her left arm, lifting her right arm into the air. Her right wrist is limp and relaxed, and she looks over her left shoulder with an intense gaze. She is observed by five participants who are out of focus. The image is in black and white.
[Image description] Jannick Moth, a Caucasian male dancer, is caught in a dynamic action pose. He hunches over in a forward lean, extending his arms outwards for balance. His left arm reaches backwards towards the sky while his right arm hovers an inch above the floor. His entire body weight is supported by his right knee and the outer side of his left foot. He focuses his gaze downwards towards the studio floor. The picture is in black and white.

Stopgap Dance Company is driven by a diverse creative team who uses dance as a movement for change.

The company’s mission is to create an inclusive world where diversity is not just accepted but pursued, a world where no one is limited by prejudice against deaf, disabled, or neurodivergent people.

Working with an artform shaped by human touch and energised by the spark of connectivity, their work demonstrates the compelling power of diversity and inclusivity. Together, they move to create a remarkable experience that transforms society’s perceptions of difference and dismantle the inequity of privilege, in dance and in all aspects of living, collaborating, and creating together as humans.

Stopgap is both focused on and born out of the company’s rigorous investment in equity and inclusive culture. They are committed to removing barriers to dance, nurturing the talents of dancers born into any body and any mind. In coalition with a wave of organisations, they move towards a better representation of diversity on our stages and in society.

The company is a global leader of disability access in dance and continuously examines best practice. They actively advocate for the industry and the wider world to become more inclusive.
