Artist Information

nWinds

Formed in 2018, nWinds is a performing arts society made up of passionate musicians and educators keen to do their part for the Singapore band community and its students.

 

The “n” in nWinds—drawn from the algebraic letter which can refer to any variable—represents their belief in their ability to display a wide array of styles and genres in any given setting, with any combination of wind players.

 

Their work in music education includes a successful collaboration with Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) in 2019, which saw more than a hundred students from all over Southeast Asia learn the art of playing a wind instrument. nWinds also performs as a demonstration ensemble, which has been instrumental for conducting masterclasses and wind clinics discussing pedagogy.

 

With their passion of bringing music to the people and gathering wind musicians together, nWinds have presented several public performances and have also organised a few play-along sessions for wind musicians to jam together.
