Barrowland Ballet Artistic Director Natasha Gilmore discusses her approach to creating sensory dance theatre for neurodivergent children.
In this workshop for dancers, choreographers and theatre makers, Natasha shares her experiences of the devising work in a way that gives children creative agency, and shares the exciting creative challenges involved.
“The children these productions are designed for don’t often have access to theatre. Our work seeks to remove barriers for those with the most complex needs. If dance and theatre can truly enrich children’s lives, as both audience members and participants, then it’s essential that everyone has real access.”
– Natasha Gilmore, Artistic Director, Barrowland Ballet
