ArunDitha + Kansh present a new collaboration of materials centred around the Indian identity as a process of decolonisation. Both growing up in extremely globalised, post-colonised contexts, they have independently been on journeys to reclaim the essence of who they are through the mediums of music, spoken word and movement. Told through a variety of ambient South Asian sounds, live vocals, looping and storytelling, get to the core of what it means to be deeply human and diaspora with this special presentation.
ArunDitha
ArunDitha (b. Deborah Arunditha Emmanuel, 1988) is a techno-shamanic performance artist and writer who puts maca in her morning cacao. She has performed her poetry at local events including TEDx Singapore and The Performance Theatre, as well as at festivals worldwide, winning slams in New Zealand, Germany and Australia. She was a resident writer/artist at Literarisches Colloquium Berlin, The Watermill Center NY and The Marpha Foundation Nepal. Her musical performances and co-creations have been commissioned by the Goethe-Institut and the Barcelona International Poetry Festival. She currently sings/loops with Mantravine and Kiat, and co-organises Opens, a post-disciplinary para-academic forum. In recent years, ArunDitha’s practice has been most influenced by shamanic research, political and feminist discourse, and the light of living awareness.

A shape-shifter; alchemist, they are a multi-disciplinary artist that dabbles in forms like visual arts, DJ-ing, movement, spoken word, organising and more (if blessed with the opportunity to learn and pick up new skills and experiences). Creating is their form of catharsis, expression and a method of decolonising. Their works are their own cosmic daydream through experimenting with different forms. They also run a multidiscplinary art platform.
