Learn the Serampang 12

Serampang 12 is a traditional Malay dance that developed during the time of the Serdang Sultanate. This dance was created by Sauti in the 1940s and was revised between the 1950s and 1960s when it was commissioned by President Soekarno to be designated as the national dance of Indonesia. In this workshop, traditional dance master and choreographer Bapak Wardi will highlight the key elements of Serampang 12 that are considered essential to the dance, assisted by Ms Emelda Agung from Putih Melati Dance Company.
