Featuring artists from some of the best of Singapore’s Malay dance scene, the opening of Muara Festival features dances from classic Malay films alongside brand new choreographed creations.
Entertaining, enlightening and empowering, Muara Festival has made a name for itself as a platform for ideas exchange, collaboration, and sharing between local and regional dance practitioners, enthusiasts, and the public. Within these three days, the festival will premiere dances from classic Malay movies produced by Shaw Organisation during Singapore’s golden age of cinema, as well as new dances from local partners with the accompaniment of live musicians and emcees.
Muara Festival is presented by Era Dance Theatre in collaboration with Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay as part of Esplanade’s Pentas series.
Mask-wearing is optional. However, audiences are encouraged to continue to exercise responsibility and caution, such as wearing masks when in crowded places. No tickets will be issued. Seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
