Virtuosic, romantic and electrifying…
Join violinists Yi Li and Hao Wei as they bring you some of the best violin duets written by Bériot, Leclair and Wieniawski. This performance is sure to knock you off your feet.
Mask-wearing is optional. However, audiences are encouraged to continue to exercise responsibility and caution, such as wearing masks when in crowded places. No tickets will be issued. Seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Siew Yi Li
No stranger to audiences in Singapore and abroad, Siew Yi Li performs widely as a soloist and serves regularly as concertmaster for orchestras such as the Metropolitan Festival Orchestra, re:Sound Collective and Singapore Lyric Opera Orchestra. He has performed in major cities across Austria, China, France, South Korea and Switzerland as well as in Southeast Asia.
As an active chamber musician, Siew co-founded the Incursion Trio, Singapore’s only professional piano trio ensemble. Since making its debut in 2008, the trio has travelled to Malaysia, Taiwan and Thailand. They received critical acclaim from The Straits Times in which they were said to have “Polish, confidence...and lovely sound”.
A recipient of the Max-Jost foundation scholarship and a Rotary Club (Lausanne) violin recipient, Siew graduated from the Conservatoire de Lausanne, under the tutelage of world-renowned concert violinist Pierre Amoyal—the legendary Jascha Heifetz’s protégé.
Lim Hao Wei
Lim Hao Wei graduated from the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, National University of Singapore, where he was awarded a full scholarship to study with its Head of Violin Studies, Zuo Jun.
As an avid orchestral musician, Lim actively performs with orchestras such as Re:sound Collective, Metropolitan Festival Orchestra, Asian Cultural Symphony Orchestra and Musicians Initiative. Lim is no stranger to pop music either. He’s performed alongside singers such as A-Lin and Jam Hsiao.
In his free time, Lim teaches the violin. With teaching experience spanning almost a decade, he enjoys teaching students of different calibre, ranging from beginners to conservatory students.
