Two composers of very different backgrounds meet on stage for the very first time, pulling together their expertise and experiences in a sonic exploration of both Asian and Western instruments.
Creating music live in front of an audience, Stan and Wynne will weave instruments such as the Indonesian gendèr and the tongue drum into their mellifluous fabric of sound.
Mask-wearing is required for all indoor events. No tickets will be issued. Seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Wynne Fung
As a music educator, composer, violist, mother of two and collector of various hobbies, Wynne Fung enjoys exploring her own place and sound in the musical landscape around her. Classically trained as a composer, her music ranges from chamber music, opera to larger orchestral works. More recently, she incorporates the use of electronics in her live performances to add an interactive element to her music.
Stan
Stan is the artistic director of Kulcha—a local world music outfit, a sound designer, composer and music educator. Her works are influenced by an eclectic blend of her training in gamelan and classical piano. In recent years she has taken a keen interest in digital music technology and is currently preparing for Synthesis— a sonic work that combines nature, music and technology.
