RENE is an independent artist from Singapore. Meaningful and relatable lyrics, rich vocals, and catchy guitar lines are what creates her signature sound. Her music is greatly influenced by a mix of artists including Phoebe Bridgers, McFly, and beabadoobee. Her songwriting reflects themes such as societal commentary, self-reflection, and personal relationships.
In June 2022, RENE released a fun track titled we’re gonna die anyway!!!, in collaboration with Singapore-based singer-songwriter Marian Carmel. In April 2021, she also released her debut EP Something To Hide, a collection of five tracks written and produced over one and a half years. The EP is her first body of work, setting RENE on a path towards finding her niche as a musician and songwriter—blending genres of pop, rock, punk, and indie into a sound that best represents the artist she is.
Respect, growth, and integrity are the most important values to her as an artist. Her strong determination to perfect her musical craft and better the environment around her are what inspire her to create music.
RENE was a participating artist in The Great Singapore Replay: Season 2, with Charlie Lim as her mentor. She has performed for events such as Singapore Night Festival, Esplanade’s Baybeats festival, *SCAPE Music Day Out!, Tiger Crystal's Fire Stages, Zendyll's At Home Sessions, and UNHEARD FOR DOT: A Charity Concert. She has been featured in live radio interviews and performances on 98.7FM’s Fresh Music Live, Power 98’s Backstage Pass, and on Channel News Asia.
RENE looks forward to releasing more music in the months to come, kicking off a new era of music with her dreamy singles Better Than To Brood and Dry In The Sun in 2022.
