She has won five GRAMMY awards thus far for Best Jazz Vocal Album, is the recipient of honorary doctorates from Berklee College of Music and the Juilliard School, and has been designated a Jazz Master by The National Endowment for the Arts—the highest honour the United States bestows on jazz artists.
