Synopsis
A celebration of community, for every pram, big or small!
Pram People rolls out the red carpet for all pram users to assemble en masse, following curious and wonderful prompts through headphones, secret messages and even other participants. Performers will delight and intrigue, adding to the fun as families weave amongst and around each other.
Pram People offers a playful and welcoming approach to community participation through joyful movement and connection, using the most universal of vehicles—the pram. Hilarious, serious and surprisingly moving, this immersive, colourful spectacle will transform the venue and celebrate the pram as a valuable part of public spaces and our communities.
Inclusive and safe for everyone, Pram People is designed to be enjoyed by all our little ones and their carers—welcoming prams, buggies, and wheelchairs of all types and sizes.
This project has been assisted by the Australian Government through Creative Australia, its principal arts investment and advisory body. Polyglot Theatre is also supported by the Victorian Government through Creative Victoria. The original development of Pram People was supported by the Restart Investment to Sustain and Expand (RISE) Fund – an Australian Government initiative, and the City of Melbourne through the Arts and Creative Investment Partnerships fund and ArtPlay.
