Bask in the warmth of trop-pop duo Summer Salt as they make their return to Singapore with more shimmery, feel-good tunes!
From the confines of bedrooms to worldwide stages, singer-guitarist Matthew Terry and drummer Eugene Chung have grown leaps and bounds over their last 11 years of music-making. With 2014’s Driving To Hawaii, the band quickly became an indie star thanks to the record’s charming mix of 60s pop, doo wop and bossa nova. They further cemented their status with subsequent releases like Happy Camper (2018), Honeyweed (2019) and Sequoia Moon (2021), each one filled with irresistible, breezy soundscapes.
In 2024, Summer Salt released their fifth LP, Electrolytes. That same year, Summer Salt released Driving Back to Hawaii in celebration of the 10th anniversary of their debut album, which featured remastered tracks of favourites such as Driving to Hawaii and Sweet to Me, alongside six previously unreleased songs. While the band paid homage to their beginnings, they also looked forward without restraint, with Electrolytes marking their first LP created with touring members Winston Triolo and Anthony Barnett. Packed with short, to-the-point pop goodness, each of the record’s seven tracks crackle with presence and confidence. “Electrolytes is an admiration of our lives, as-is,” say Terry and Chung. “Each song is a theme in our adult lives and how we navigate the realness of it these days, just trying to be our best.”
Deeply committed to their continuously blossoming community, the band is excited to share yet another lovely experience with their fans in Singapore through songs new and old.
