“Public Service Broadcasting are one of the great innovative bands of the 21st century.”
– Bring The Noise UK
“One might expect a Public Service Broadcasting gig to feel chin-stroking; it’s anything but… the spirit of a more hopeful age is being expressed in the samples and footage, and intensified by the energy of the music.”
– The Guardian
Combining instrumental rock, electronic textures and carefully selected archival recordings, British art-rock band Public Service Broadcasting transform moments of history into immersive musical experiences. Since forming in London in 2009, the quartet—J. Willgoose, Esq., Wrigglesworth, JFAbraham and Mr B—have built a catalogue of ambitious concept albums, from their debut Inform – Educate – Entertain (2013), which reimagined the Industrial Revolution, to The Race For Space (2015), charting the American and Soviet space race using archival audio. This was followed by Every Valley (2017), an exploration of Wales’ mining heritage, and Bright Magic (2021), a sonic portrait of Berlin’s past.
The Race For Space became the band’s breakthrough release, topping the UK Indie Albums Chart and achieving Gold certification, with every studio album since reaching the UK Top 5. Their most recent album, The Last Flight (2024), turns its focus to pioneering aviator Amelia Earhart, tracing her life and final voyage while reflecting both the exhilaration of flight and the emotional weight of her disappearance.
Now, for the first time, Public Service Broadcasting bring their celebrated immersive live experience to Esplanade as they make their Singapore debut. Having built a reputation as one of the UK’s most ambitious and original live acts, the band promises a carefully crafted show that is engaging, atmospheric and richly rewarding, bringing together music, visuals and archival sound together seamlessly.
