DBS Foundation Outdoor Theatre at Esplanade
Experience the rich tapestry of Chinese orchestral music in a vibrant performance that celebrates both cultural heritage and Singaporean identity. Enjoy iconic classics such as The General's Command and Dance of the Yao People, then be swept away by modern masterpieces including Spring Blossoms and Autumn Fruits and Ode to the Sun. Local works such as Kreta Ayer and Song of the Sisters’ Islands will spotlight and celebrate Singapore stories through powerful orchestral voices.
Singapore Foochow Association Chinese Orchestra
Established in 1983, the Singapore Foochow Association Chinese Orchestra (SFACO) is a full-sized orchestra comprising over 80 members, including students, working professionals and seasoned musicians. Under the baton of conductor Zheng Kaiwen, SFACO has grown into a dynamic ensemble known for its annual sold-out concerts, often featuring Singapore premieres. With a strong commitment to cultural preservation and youth development, the orchestra continues to push artistic boundaries while remaining deeply rooted in tradition.
