Synopsis

What do you leave behind when you go in search for a better life?

 

The Homecoming is a stripped-down, soul-baring play about migrant workers’ quiet struggles and deep hopes while living apart from their families. Told through intimate conversations and monologues, the performance captures the ache of absence, the weight of sacrifice and the enduring pull of home.

 

Heartfelt and rich with emotion, these are raw, real and brutally human stories that are not often told.

The group offers a safe and inclusive platform for all migrants to volunteer and engage in literature and the arts. Their literary events serve to raise awareness on important issues, as well as promote and embrace cultural diversity. Migrant Writers of Singapore believes that everyone has a gift, and thus aims to build a self-sustaining community that empowers migrants to discover their talents, develop their voice and give back to Singapore.
