Singaporean veteran singer and fierce keeper-of-the-jazz-flame, Yvette Atienza is an astonishingly versatile singer, with jazz and Latin jazz as her strongest suits, as both provide a channel for her penchant for improvisation and strong rhythms. With a career spanning 37 years, she led the way for vocal improvisation, vocalese and Latin jazz in Singapore, and has also taught and mentored many of Singapore’s young, up-and-coming singers. On this upcoming performance, Atienza said “It is my honour and pleasure to pay homage and honour Johnny Mercer and his magic, because I have been enjoying singing so many of his songs since I began my career in jazz.”
