Synopsis

When does love propel us to greater heights and when does love hinder us? Love can be an empowering push, yet it also has a mysterious ability to restrain.

 

Unveil the secrets of love’s duality with jazz vocalist Siti Nur Iman who will be joined by Kenzo Nagari on guitar and Ivan Ong on double bass. Together, they perform an eclectic array of tunes from Noël Coward, Aretha Franklin, and Duke Ellington.

Iman, Ivan and Kenzo

Iman, Ivan, and Kenzo first played together many moons ago in a tiny college practice room with one amp and a dream. Now, much older and wiser, the trio reunites to see what new magic they can make together. In their years apart, Iman has shared the stage with her Singaporean jazz heroes (Jeremy Monteiro and Chok Kerong) and currently performs regularly with The Sugar Bees. Kenzo has played guitar for wide-ranging musical acts including The Sugar Bees, Houg and Mary Sue and makes beats for rappers both locally and internationally. Ivan has graduated from Esplanade’s Mosaic Jazz Fellows Programme (2019) and genre-hops on the double bass and electric bass in some of Singapore’s hottest live music hangouts.
