Globally-renowned composer Joe Hisaishi joins forces with the Orchestre de Paris – one of the world’s foremost symphony orchestras – for his World Dream Tour. Joe Hisaishi is Composer in Association with the Philharmonie de Paris, where the orchestra is a permanent resident. This landmark event marks the orchestra’s first ever tour to Singapore, and the first major European/US orchestra tour to the country since 2020. Internationally celebrated for its refined French tonal tradition and uncompromising performance standards, the Orchestre de Paris brings Europe’s great symphonic heritage into vivid dialogue with Hisaishi’s distinctive musical voice, renowned for its lyrical beauty, contemporary sensibility, and powerful storytelling.
The programme opens with Claude Debussy’s Petite Suite, a luminous Impressionist gem of delicate colour and flowing texture. Hisaishi’s Symphonic Suite “Princess Mononoke” follows, transforming beloved film music into an expansive symphonic statement, heightened by the presence of a soprano solo. After intermission, his latest composition Concerto for Orchestra serves as a thrilling finale, an electrifying showcase that gives every section of the ensemble its moment in the spotlight.
