Her musical path began at the age of four with piano lessons from her mother, a pianist who later introduced her to violin at six under the guidance of Goh Soon Tioe. Practice was a daily ritual; only after completing an hour each on piano and violin would she earn her dinner. These moments often continued in the kitchen, where her mother taught her to cook, turning food into both reward and an expression of care.
