A Transnational Celebration of Culture and Music
World-renowned conductor Tang Muhai returns to Singapore to lead the Shanghai Nine Trees Philharmonic Orchestra alongside distinguished Singaporean musicians, in a landmark program weaving together beloved Western and Eastern classics. Singaporean pianist William Wei, celebrated for his expressive touch and commanding stage presence, makes his homecoming debut with Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 1, a youthful masterpiece radiant with poetry, beauty, and virtuosic brilliance.
Also featured is the international premiere of Dreaming of Fengpu, a tribute to the people of Fengxian District who came together to raise funds to build the Fengpu Bridge. Across five movements, the piece blends a rich, grand symphonic sound with folk music elements from the Jiangnan region to honour the people's unity, resilience, and aspiration. Singaporean Felix Phang's Pasat Merdu, a vibrant musical tapestry that captures the colour and rhythm of Southeast Asian life, completes the program.
More than a concert — this is a celebration of friendship, identity, and the future of cross-border collaboration. Don't miss this unforgettable fusion of East and West, tradition and innovation, memory and imagination.
