Singapore Ballet opens the 2025 Season with one of the greatest love stories of all time - Romeo and Juliet. Set in Verona, Italy, the ballet tells of the story of the Capulets and the Montagues who are sworn enemies. At a ball held at the Capulet’s home one evening, Romeo and Juliet are brought together by Fate and falls deeply in love with each other. As the evening ends, Juliet discovers that Romeo is the only son of her family’s greatest enemy, the Montagues. Romeo sneaks into the Capulet’s orchard later that night, and visits Juliet outside her balcony. They exchange vows of love and make plans to marry in secret. Will the star-crossed lovers overcome all odds and live happily ever after, or will their forbidden love end in tragedy? Watch the story unfold as Singapore Ballet performs Romeo and Juliet to the exquisite choreography by Choo-San Goh, Singapore’s master craftsman in dance, accompanied by the Metropolitan Festival Orchestra.
