5 Dec, 4pm: Beyond Good Singing (Conducted in Mandarin)
Exploring the Contemporary Mandopop Voice with Estill Voice Training
What makes a contemporary Mandopop voice sound intimate, breathy, bright, powerful or emotionally charged? Is it simply talent or can these sounds be explored and developed?
In this interactive workshop facilitated by Estill Mentor and Course Instructor Aaron Lim, discover how Estill Voice Training can help you understand the many vocal colours found in Mandarin pop singing. Using familiar song lines and examples inspired by today’s Mandopop artists, participants will explore how changes in vocal quality, resonance, diction and expression can transform the same musical phrase.
