Synopsis
Indie and progressive rock greats Mew bid fans goodbye in this global farewell tour, marking their 30th anniversary and the departure of frontman Jonas Bjerre.
Formed in Copenhagen, Denmark in 1995, Mew has garnered “Frengers” from all corners of the globe thanks to their unparalleled fusion of ethereal soundscapes, soaring vocals, and cinematic arrangements. Transcending traditional genre boundaries, the band has crafted a dreamlike yet powerful sonic universe that spans eight studio albums, including iconic works like Frengers (2003), And the Glass Handed Kites (2005), and No More Stories... (2009). Coupled with their otherworldly live performances and visual artistry, Mew has long cemented their status as trailblazers in the global music scene.
Now, they invite their fans to join them for one more chapter—a heartfelt celebration of everything they’ve created together. This tour is a thank you to their community who have supported them, resonated with their music, and helped turn their dreams into reality.
A message from the band
This year marks the 30th anniversary of Mew! It’s been quite a journey, for which we will always be grateful!
For Jonas, this journey will be coming to an end as these will be his last shows with Mew.
“I have decided to pursue other creative endeavours going forth in the future, and I leave Mew in the capable hands of Johan and Silas, and wish them the very best on their continued journey”.
We look forward to all the shows this year, a final adventure with our buddy Jonas, and we hope to see a lot of Frengers out there!
– Jonas, Silas and Johan (Mew)
