Embrace the evolving and open nature of contemporary dance with Nederlands Dans Theater (NDT 2) as they make their long-awaited return to Esplanade after 10 years! This world-renowned dance company presents a mixed bill which features three dynamic works, highlighting some of the most exciting voices and perspectives in dance today.
Get the chance to experience the work of Marcos Morau for the first time with Folkå (2021), a pulsating visual and auditory landscape centred around ritual, where an evocative story is told about community and its customs and traditions. A new voice for NDT 2, Botis Seva’s Watch Ur Mouth (2025) revolves around the role of criticism and our response to it in the process of creation, told through an amalgamation of hip hop, physical theatre and contemporary dance. His experiments with form, structure and theatrics result in an intricate and emotional language of movement. FIT (2018) by Alexander Ekman is a playful and dynamic exploration of what it truly means to fit in—and what happens when you don’t. Set to The Dave Brubeck Quartet’s swinging Take Five, this full-company work bursts with energy, bold costumes, and Ekman’s signature humour, wit, and absurdity.
Brimming with promise, vitality and creativity, NDT 2 is the second company of the acclaimed Nederlands Dans Theater, a leading contemporary dance organisation dedicated to creation, research and talent development. Known for the sharp precision and dynamic energy, the dancers of NDT 2 are ones to watch—don’t miss your chance to see them in action in this highly-anticipated performance!
