Founded in 1926, the NHK Symphony Orchestra celebrates its 100th anniversary this year. It has continuously invited world-renowned conductors and the world's most sought-after soloists to deliver outstanding performances that have become part of its rich legacy. Today, it presents around 120 concerts annually across Japan, broadcast nationwide by NHK television and FM radio, with selected performances shared internationally through broadcast services and the orchestra’s official YouTube channel.
Since its first world tour in 1960, the orchestra has placed emphasis on international appearances. In May 2025, it toured Europe, performing in six cities across five countries. This April, the orchestra returns to Singapore for the first time in 24 years. This special Pokémon concert features three trumpeters, two hornists, three trombonists, and one tubist from the orchestra's brass section, showcasing their resplendent sound.
