Synopsis
Celebrate National Day with Alunan Kampung Gelam as they reimagine lively vintage songs from Singapore through their own unique contemporary sound.
In this intergenerational presentation of music and movement, Alunan Kampung Gelam is joined by their good friends Thaddeus Chung (violin and vocals) and Safafisalam Bohari Jaon (percussion), with special appearances by veteran dancers Norhayati Masnan, Marziana Johar and Yasmine Ali, alongside well-known performer Melissa Sidek. Together, they honour Singapore’s rich multilingual musical heritage while paying tribute to local music icons such as Nona Asiah, Saloma and Aisha Akbar.
