“O How My Heart It Burneth!”: Renaissance Love Madrigals

The 5AM Early Music Singers was founded in 2020 by a group of young, like-minded singers who were passionate in exploring the “early music” of Europe in a chamber setting, with an emphasis on programming lesser-known works. Over the years, 5AM has performed music by numerous masters including Monteverdi, Josquin, Verdelot, and Rore; as well as arrangements of medieval and folk tunes, which included a set of Celtic Christmas songs. Apart from the typical “classical” performance, 5AM has also engaged in community outreach projects, such as concerts held in collaboration with Alunan Kampung Gelam, which serve as a small way to help rekindle the kampung spirit in Singapore.
