Synopsis

Join Erlyn, Natalie and Nicole as they bring to life French classics for violin, clarinet and piano. Enter the stormy and melancholic soundscape of Poulenc’s Sonata for Violin and Piano, balanced by Milhaud’s lighthearted dialogue in his Suite for Violin, Clarinet and Piano. Then, experience Pierné’s elegant and effortless Canzonetta for Clarinet and Piano, and be among the first to hear the premiere of Love’s Epilogue, a new work by Singaporean composer Seem Jia Ang.

Erlyn Alexander

Erlyn Alexander is a versatile violinist based in Singapore, actively performing with acclaimed local ensembles including Singapore Symphony Orchestra, The Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestra of Music Makers, Musicians’ Initiative, and The Purple Symphony. She has played under the baton of renowned conductors such as Lim Yau, Natalia Luis Bassa, Matt Dunkley, and Tito Munoz, and continues to make her mark as both a soloist and ensemble musician. Some of her recent highlights include winning the strings category at the NAFA Concerto Competition 2024/2025 and winning first prize at the inaugural NAFA Strings Competition. Erlyn also served as concertmaster in her final year of undergraduate studies at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts. She is a recent graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance from the Royal College of Music in collaboration with the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, where her academic journey was supported by both the NAFA Entry Scholarship (Degree) and the NAFA Scholarship (Degree) in her final year.

Natalie Gail

Clarinettist Natalie Gail is a first-class honours graduate of the Bachelor of Music (Hons) from the Royal College of Music, in collaboration with Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts. She is a recipient of the NAFA Dean’s List Award and NAFA Scholarship Award in her diploma years, and was supported by the Leong Yoon Pin Scholarship during her undergraduate years. She has been actively performing in local ensembles such as the Metropolitan Festival Orchestra, The Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestra of Music Makers, and the Singapore Armed Forces Central Band as a guest performer. Natalie also served as principal clarinet during her undergraduate studies at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts.

Nicole Ng

Singaporean pianist Nicole Ng Xin-Yu is in demand as a freelance collaborative pianist. A first-class honours graduate of the Bachelor of Music (Hons) course at the Royal College of Music (London), she was recently awarded the Best Graduate of the Masters of Performance NAFA-RCM course. Some of her notable achievements include the Grand Prize Winner of the NAFA Concerto Competition in 2023, culminating in a performance of Rachmaninoff's Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini at the Victoria Concert Hall in 2024. She also won Third Prize at UCSI International Piano Festival and Competition 2024, Kuala Lumpur (Young Artist Category). She is thankful to have had the guidance of many mentors, in particular Lena Ching and Dina Parakhina.
