Echoes of Nusantara

Djoko Mangkrengg Performing Arts (DMPA) is a youth-focused performing arts group founded by the late Mohamed Khamis Selamat. The ensemble was established to provide a continuing platform for students who, after graduating from their respective schools, wished to further develop their passion for music and performance. Bringing together young musicians trained in angklung, kulintang and gamelan traditions, DMPA fosters ensemble musicianship, discipline and artistic growth beyond the school environment. The group continues its founder’s vision by supporting youths who remain dedicated to learning, performing and sustaining Nusantara musical traditions through contemporary and meaningful performance practices.
