A tabla player and a classical pianist walk into a room. The start of a joke maybe, but in the case of TANSHIN, it was the beginning of a multi-year journey of orchestral co-commissions, ensemble collaborations and unfiltered jams into the wee hours.

With influences like Goat Rodeo Sessions, Lili Boulanger, Ichiko Aoba, The Gloaming, and Florence + The Machine, the duo’s inspirations are as varied as their vocabulary. Tan and Shin make their debut collaborative performance as they present their improvisations and compositions in a set where genres and styles collapse into a singularity.
