Emerging out of Singapore Polytechnic (SP), the band comprises students that specialise in Sound and Music under the Diploma in the Media, Arts and Design. Led by lead singer Rui, the band also comprises keyboardist Jolien, drummer Jonjonyi, guitarist Dan and bassist Ai. The band is named after the public bus route 74, which the band frequently take from SP’s campus. Route 74 is also thrilled to announce their upcoming debut single, Lighting Up Tokyo, which talks about enjoying life with your best friend through the night life of Tokyo. Route 74 aims to bring a unique blend of genres to the Singapore music landscape through original music and covers.
