A Greg Lyons Tribute

The Tiny Club Band features the students of the late, great Gregory Bonaventure Lyons. Greg often led this band himself, performing at a variety of venues—from intimate concerts at his studio, the old Grooveworks venue at Pearl's Hill, to larger shows at Esplanade and various colleges.

These students are now accomplished bandleaders themselves now. Most notably, Rachma Lim, our beloved jazzloft jam meister; Johan Liedberg, a Swedish saxophonist who kindly and effortlessly fills the lead horn role; trumpeter Dan Wong, first call for Greg's 10-piece ensemble Omniform; guitarist Alvin Wong, an in-demand session musician and leader of the biomechanics; drummer Rafaee Mahmood, owner of Anadigi Sound Lab and manager of a stable of bands; and bassist Fabian Lee, Greg Lyons’ trusted sideman for shows in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
