Bobby Sparks II

Sparks fly in the cargo lift

Music
>15mins

Funk is felt, not just heard.

And feel it we did when Bobby Sparks II breezed into our cargo lift with his band in tow—saxophonist Keith Anderson, bassist Justin McKinney and drummer Adarian Roberts. Crammed into a three by four metre space (about half the size of their stage at Esplanade Annexe Studio, where they performed for Jazz in July 2026), the band still fired on all metaphorical cylinders, a musical engine conjuring the impeccable grooves that Sparks is beloved for. Known as the key architect behind the signature sound of GRAMMY Award-winning collective Snarky Puppy, this master of vintage keys masterfully fuses funk, rock, soul, and jazz into a single sonic universe that draws in anyone in the vicinity into its orbit. Effortlessly cool and absolutely electric.

Special thanks to Camera Rental Centre Singapore for their support of this video.

Production: Ian Lee and Gareth Christopher from PK Records
