Embark on a musical journey with composer Germaine Goh, as she explores life’s pivotal moments. Drawing inspiration from traditional Chinese music from weddings, harvests, and gatherings, her new compositions capture the emotional highs and lows of the human experience. Featuring Anarva Wang on morin khuur and erhu, and Chew Lixian on sheng, this concert weaves a vibrant tapestry of life’s rich emotions.

Artist Information

Anarva Wang

Anarva Wang is a distinguished morin khuur player and music ethnologist, and the only morin khuur player in Singapore. She specialises in experimental fusion music and co-founded GIMA Band, Southeast Asia's first morin khuur and guitar fusion band. Their tracks have topped the iTunes Singapore and Spain World Music Charts.

Chew Lixian

Chew Lixian is a versatile musician skilled in both Chinese and Western music. She began with the piano but discovered her passion for the sheng in secondary school, leading her to perform both locally and internationally. In 2016, she won first prize in the Sheng Open Category at the National Chinese Music Competition and debuted with the Singapore Chinese Orchestra. As a member of the Singapore Chinese Music Federation Youth Chapter and a sheng musician with The TENG Ensemble, Lixian aims to inspire a love for music through her performances and collaborations.

Germaine Goh

Germaine Goh is a Singaporean composer and arranger specialising in symphonic, orchestral, chamber music, jazz, big band, and pop. She graduated with first-class honours in Music Composition from LASALLE College of the Arts in 2018. Her works have been performed by various ensembles, including the Resound Chamber Orchestra and Ding Yi Music Company.
