Dr. Manjula Surendra (Veena)
Dr. Manjula Surendra began learning the veena at the tender age of seven under the guidance of Vidushi Gyanambal. Later, upon receiving the Karnataka State Scholarship and the Government of India Central Research Scholarship, she came under the tutelage of Vidwan Mysore C. Krishnamurthy. Dr. Manjula pursued advanced training and continues to learn under Vidwan D. Balakrishna, a senior Veena exponent and son of the illustrious Vidwan Sangeetha Kalanidhi Padma Bhushan awardee Dr. Mysore V. Doreswamy Iyengar.
As an A Grade artist of All India Radio, she has performed in national music programs and South Zone concerts of AIR and Doordarshan. She is also an active concert performer, performing across India and overseas.
Dr. Manjula holds a PhD in music from Bangalore University and an MPhil from Jain University.
Sivakumar (Mridangam)
Guru Kallidaikurichi S Sivakumar began his initial training with Guru Vaitheeswarankoil Vaidyanathan at the age of seven and gave his first concert at the age of 14. He later underwent intensive training with illustrious gurus Sangeetha Kalanidhi and Padmashri Sri Palghat Raghu for over 10 years (1987-97). During this decade, he blossomed and matured as a mridangam artist, focusing on how to accompany the Carnatic keerthanais (songs) with the rich dexterity that is the hallmark of his Gurus' traditions.
Guru Sivakumar is an A-Grade mridangam artist for All India Radio and Doordarshan (India) and has 37 years of concert experience. He has been teaching budding mridangam students for over 20 years, both in India and abroad. Several of his students are now concert performers.
Jyothishmathi Sheejith (Vocal)
Guru Jyothishmathi Sheejith started her initial training from Vidushi Smt. Subhadramma. She later joined Kalakshetra for higher studies where she learned under Vidwan Vairamangalam Lakshmi Narayanan, Vidwan D. Pasupathi, and Vidwan S. Rajaram.
Guru Jyothishmathi Sheejith completed her postgraduate course at the esteemed Kalakshetra Foundation and is currently under the mentorship of Smt. Mangalam Shankar.
Guru Jyothishmathi is recognised for her innovative music compositions for both thematic productions and bharatanatyam repertoire. Some of her notable works include Masquerade, Man in the Iron Mask by Kalakshetra, Parinamam, Pravaha, Krishna Bharatam, Don Quixote, and Ritu, in collaboration with Sheejith Krishna and other prominent artists.
