Synopsis

Stone seals are unique keepsakes that can last for a long time. Make it even more special by carving one yourself!   

 

In this two-hour workshop, discover the art and tradition of stone seal carving, but with a modern twist. Get to know the tools and materials needed to make a stone seal, and the basic techniques for carving the stone. All materials are provided.    

 

At the end of the workshop, you’ll take home two of your very own hand-carved stone seals. You can choose to carve Chinese characters, a symbol, or even short English names.

16 and above.

Artist Information

Baisimu

Founder of Baisimu, Jean is a Singaporean Chinese who has been carving for 10 years. A self-taught carver, she enjoys incorporating modern designs and symbols into her stone seals. Hoping to explore variety in functionality and design, Jean has also ventured into rubber stamp carving and is well-versed in handling both materials.
