Experience DNA transformation as More Molecules unites six free jazz heavyweights. Brace yourself for an explosive collision as New Zealand's Jeff Henderson, Malaysia's Yong Yandsen, and Australia's Tim O'Dwyer unleash their saxophone mastery while joining forces with KL-based Richard Allan Bates on upright bass, American virtuoso Brian O'Reilly on bass/electronics, and Australian Darren Moore on drums. Patrons who have registered but are not at the venue 5 mins before the start will have their seats released to walk-in patrons on a first-come, first-served basis.
Seating will be assigned by Esplanade’s ushers.

Brian O'Reilly
Brian O'Reilly works within the fields of electroacoustic composition, sound installations, moving images and noise music. He is a also a contrabassist focusing on uncovering his instrument's inaudible textures and hidden acoustic microsounds by integrating electronic treatments and extended playing techniques. He is a lecturer at LASALLE's College of the Arts School of Contemporary Music, focusing on electronic music composition, visual music and creative music-making techniques through improvisation.
Darren Moore
Darren Moore is a master improviser whose nuanced drumming style has earned him a reputation as one of the leading musicians at the vanguard of jazz, free jazz and experimental music. He is active in Australia, Europe, Japan and Southeast Asia, collaborating with leading musicians in his field. He currently lives in Singapore, where he is a Senior Lecturer in the music department at LASALLE College of the Arts and co-runs the experimental music label, LaoBan Records.
Jeff Henderson

Jeff Henderson is a musician, sound artist and producer who has been integral to New Zealand’s creative music scene for over three decades. A prolific performer on saxophones and clarinet, he also plays in numerous bands and ensembles on a variety of regular and invented instruments. He has established and run venues, festivals, record labels and tours devoted to experimental and underground music and is currently Director of the Audio Foundation—an institution dedicated to adventurous music and Sound art in New Zealand.
Richard Allan Bates
Richard Allan Bates is a Malaysia-based double bass player. British, he was born in Hong Kong and has also lived in Cambodia, the Philippines and the UK. Richard has played in many musical projects and collaborations. Rooted in free jazz and improv, his playing focuses on structured and unstructured free improvisation. Richard co-founded Khatulistiwa, a recording and event space in Kuala Lumpur's art district with a label focused on releasing music by and with Malaysian artists.
Tim O'Dwyer
Tim O'Dwyer has been the Head of the School of Contemporary Music at LASALLE College of the Arts, University of the Arts, Singapore, since 2009. Having played the saxophone for over 30 years now, he’s been at the forefront of free jazz and experimental music in Australasia and Europe. He is a founding member of Bucketrider, The Make It Up Club, The Tim O'Dwyer Trio, and is an artistic fellow of the Academy of Arts of the World in Germany. He has been a member of the ELISION Ensemble since 1994 and has collaborated numerous times with the Australian Art Orchestra.
Yong Yandsen
Yong Yandsen is a free jazz and improvised saxophonist from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Yandsen has released albums through XingWu and Herbal Records in Malaysia, Utech Records (USA), Dream Sheep (Italy), and his solo debut on vinyl through Doubtful Sound (France). He has played at allEars Improvised Music Festival (Norway), Asian Meeting Festival (Japan), Esplanade’s Mosaic Music Festival (Singapore), amongst others. He co-founded a Malaysian record label, LaoBan Records, focusing on releasing contemporary improvised music.
