A Cappella Showcase #1: NTU CAC Harmonix, NUS CAC Resonance & SIT Just Singers

Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Harmonix is a vibrant and thriving family with members who have the passion to share their love for music using only their voices.

Harmonix has been working towards bringing a different sound to the college community as well as the Singapore a cappella scene. With a blend of different personalities and colourful vocals, they strive to showcase a coherent and sophisticated sound and sensational harmonies to engage and entertain audiences.

Formed in 2001, National University of Singapore (NUS) CAC Resonance is the pioneer and premier collegiate a cappella group from NUS. Made up of people bound by a common love for singing, members in Resonance come from diverse musical backgrounds and sing just about anything—from contemporary pop to choral, alternative rock to swing, and even the occasional techno tune.

Resonance performs all-year round for various occasions such as National Day, Christmas, and New Year celebrations, in music festivals across Singapore, and hold their biennial concert series Vocal Obsession and The Inside Edition. Resonance’s achievements include clinching top positions in Singapore’s National A Cappella Championships. Internationally, the group has won A Cappella competitions in Korea and Taiwan, including the Gold Award at the 2016 International Kodaly A Cappella Festival held in Seoul, Korea.

Over the past decade, Singapore Institute of Technology’s (SIT) Just Singers has been committed to refining their skills in contemporary a cappella. The club has been exploring and experimenting with songs of various genres, such as pop, jazz, and funk to entertain audiences from all walks of life. Bringing together unique voices across the five satellite campuses of SIT, Just Singers seeks to liven the mood with some funky and jazzy pieces at this year’s Voices - A Festival of Song.
